Do guys like rescuing a damsel in distress?

I would say am a strong(not talking physically) independent girl. I like my freedom. I totally hate being told what to do. But I totally love it when the guy I am with or going out with is being protective of me. Can’t explain it it’s just that I do.

So my Q is

1. Do you guys think it’s silly or pathetic to like that?

2. And then there are some guys that aren’t like that at all they wouldn’t say anything if a guy teases you when you’re with him! Why are they like this can you explain. I am trying to understand.

3. By the way, do you guys like protecting your girls? Or is it a botheration to you?

I think that I'd mostly agree with Evangelina214. I have absolutely no problem with defending you, but if I have to come to your rescue every time someone says something you don't like, then I'd probably get quite fed up with it. That's not really protective, but more of being a wimp.

1. I can very much see why you would like that. A lot of girls like it.

2. Teasing, I probably wouldn't say anything. People tease each other all the time, that's not something that you should need protecting for. If it is, then you should probably stop taking things so seriously. If somebody's verbally attacking you, then I would definitely intervene.

3. I live for chivalry. I'd take a bullet for a girl I truly loved.

1. It's not silly at all. And even if it was, you're allowed to like what you like.

2. Maybe they're cowards. Maybe they're conflict-avoiders. Maybe they're passive-aggressive, letting others punish you for them. If you *really want to know, ask them. Or their shrink.

3. I don't mind at all, unless she's one of those psycho instigator chicks who enjoy watching their men in conflict.

1)There's nothing wrong with wanting a guy to "protect" you but you have to be able to stand up for yourself.He isn't in charge of your safety or life.

2)Umm,joking around.Are you playing defenseless and stupid?If there's a possibility that you can defend yourself,then take it.Why should a guy baby you.It's one thing if a guy is just teasing you,it's another if he starts degrading you.

3)Girls who act like they can not defend themselves when needed are a botheration(I had no clue that was a word).

I absolutely hate it when my guy friends try to do that but if it’s the guy I'm dating then I secretly want him to say something. By the way I can and always stand up for myself!! But like I said if it’s a guy I like it’s a bit different then

:) If a guy /ANYONE, teases you, you should be able to stand up for yourself., unless you just don't want to give them the time of day... I like to be carried periodically, lol but not verbally.

i don't think it's silly to like that.. I think if a guy doesn't go out of his way to defend his girlfriend in front of other guys.. it's probably because he would feel embarassed or doesn't wanna seem weak in front of the other guys or something? my girlfriend hasn't been teased in front of me so I havn't had that experience.. but I'm sure I would defend my girlfriend if it was taken too far, like beyond a joke.
