Why do guys stare at girls?

There's this one guy that's always looking at me when I go to the place where he works. If I make eye contact with him it's like he's trying to get me to read his mind and then he'll just look away really fast. Sometimes I can get him to talk but he won't look at me most of the time if I look at him.

There's another guy that works at walmart and he keeps looking at me, but it's different. It's not hard to guess what he's thinking. He'll look at me for a minute and then he'll get a cocky smile that gives away what he's thinking. Some what. He has no problem at all talking to me but he keeps it short.

My question is why do guys stare at girls because I'm curious. All my guy friends say I don't want to know, but just because they said that it makes me want to know more. And the true examples are the only two ways I've noticed a guy stares at a girl, unless their in love with them

Guys tend to look at girls for how they look. Girls, while they do check out guys (we just don't catch you doing it), they look to guys for who they are. Guys tend to be more visual while girls are not quite as much.

From the looks of your picture, you are a pretty girl, nice eyes and a good body. I can see why you would catch the eye of a young man. Yes, guys do check out your 'attributes' - that's just a fact of nature.

The first guy sounds like he likes what he sees. However, he seems a bit shy from what you have mentioned. Talk to him. If you are interested in him, make it known. Guys can be very clueless. When I was younger, I always used to think "there's a pretty girl. A girl like that probably already has a boyfriend". If you let him know that you are interested (if you are), you may have just found a new friend that could lead to who knows what. He may not have the courage or a fear of rejection to find out more about you. Sorry, this is what modern society is turning guys into. They aren't allowed to be men any more - many now call that harassment if a guy shows interest in a girl.

As for the second guy, it sounds like he is trying to "eye hump" you. You may want to pass on him.

I hope this answers your question. Guys check out girls for their physical attrirbutes because that is what they do. It is what they do after they have collected your 'inventory' that matters most. If it is the first guy, he may just want to meet you. If it is the second guy, he may already have you half way undressed in his mind.

This is a good question. Obviously your friends are hinting that it's sexual attraction, right? But that's kinda hard to accept.

Here's the deal.

It's pleasure and pain.

When guys (and gals) see someone who strikes them, they feel pleasure. If they are struck in an intense way, they also feel pain.

The pleasure is because the person registers as a potential sex partner (this doens't mean they will invite you for sex; one hopes they try and connect verbally.) The pain is because they can't act on this want for sex because it's just not socially acceptable.

The pleasure is good to feel, the pain is hard to endure, so sometimes people struck in this way go a little nuts. Doesn't make 'em bad, just makes 'em human. If you like, you could try to strike up some small talk about whatever circumstance you find yourself in. Maybe you'll have a fun little verbal reciprocation.

It's only because they think that you're attractive. What your guy friends said about you not wanting to know is just dumb. A guy isn't necessarily thinking about having sex with you when he looks at you, he could be thinking about something else unrelated to you. But, if you're attractive to him, then he is more likely to look in your direction than anywhere else.

Just like with you, if you happen to see something pleasant-looking then you're going to look at it, even if not all of your thoughts are occupied by that one thing.

the first guy you mention likes you but is somewhat shy. do a google on shy guy body language read at least 10 different articules. you see exactly why the 1st guy does and acts around you.

the second guy you probably hit the nail on the head he's acting cocky because he believes he could get you any time he wants. this guy is more confident than the 1st guy . but don't rule the 1st guy out. because he may be shy .

If I'm shopping at the store I always look at women I think are hot and fantasize about them which is probably what the guys who stare at you are doing. I also look at women who work at the office at my work and fantasize about them. The you don't want to know part is they may be saving the memory of you for their spank bank as they call it. I know it's dirty but you really wanted to know. Hope it doesn't creep you out, I would take it as a compliment if I were you.

Guys are attracted to physical appearances. It's as simple as that. lol. Guys stare at attractive girls and you know what they're thinking, we wish we have X-ray vision... and guys stare at really weird/ugly girls and think... wtf is that. The second one is harsh, but true.

Well, I see your user name is "gothicbabe253". Me personally, I'm not attracted to dark colors or gothic styles of clothing. So that's where a discrepancy would be. Gothic guys are usually attracted to gothic girls. Usually people that dress with a similar style are attracted to the opposite sex with that same style.
