I realized getting a girl's number means nothing really?

i found that 95% of the time you will get it anyways because she just wants to be friendly. These last few weeks I have been building up getting this girls number as some huge thing. Once I got it I then realized "well now what?" I realized that getting a girls number really means nothing, it is the actions taken afterward that mean a lot more.

The number means nothing anymore. Ten years ago when mobiles were less common, it did.

It depends totally on the set up and how well you know her, but you have to hone your texting and calling skills down to a tee. Has to hook her in, make her interested/laugh but also show that you are socially dominant.

For example: Never, ever, ever EVER ask a girl out like so "Do you want to go out sometime?" or words to that effect.

It's much better to risk a social blow out with "I'm (thinking of) going to xyx on abcday. It'd be cool if you came along" It forced her to show her cards on her opinion of you.

You would be correct. Sadly for someone like myself, its a massive accomplishment and ill either f*** the situation up afterward or realize the woman doesn't like me. Takes me a long long time to get the balls to just ask for a phone number...and in reality it shouldn't be that hard...

Yeah, I personally don't think getting someones number means anything either. I wouldn't give mine to just any guy, I mean if the guy I liked asked, maybe then I would but if just a guy I don't like and or I don't know just asked, I probably wouldn't but then again I might because I not sure how I would just say "no" when they ask. Lol.. but of course I think getting your girlfriend/boyfriend number is a good idea because well, they are you gf/bf. :P

I don't give out my number to guys I don't like...I ask for theirs instead! So they won't bother me and I can have it handy if I need it! Text her within 2-3 days TOPS!...If a guy text me after a week or two, I assume he's bored and was looking at his contacts and decided to text me...like I hadn't crossed his mind before!...very insulting...sooo don't bother after 1-2 weeks!

I always give mine because I'm so bad at rejecting people. Many guys try it immediately to see if your mobile goes off so it's no use giving a fake number. I usually end up not picking up though. Once had a guy calling me practically every day for two weeks and I just didn't have the guts to pick up and tell him I wasn't interested. Not good, I know.

True, it's not a huge deal, but it's one small step towards the ultimate goal. Once you get that, you can establish contact and go from there. It probably varies from girl to girl about how they respond, but at the very least you can see from their face how comfortable they are with the situation.

If you waited weeks to ask a girl out you screwed up. If she is attracted to you popping the question within a week or two is best - the longer you wait the more you'll be in the "friendship" pit.

Well, everyone's experiences are different. I've always found that asking sooner rather than later is best. I've been in situations where I really liked a girl but let it go for months without making my feelings known and it was a mistake.

I don't always give my number, actually I seldom due unless I really like the guy. I'll add him on facebook but I won't give him my number if I don't know him well enough to do so.
