To ponytail or not to ponytail?

Question

Okay guys, this one's for you.  I wear my hair in a ponytail literally everyday.  Like, no joke.  EVERYDAY.  I have worn it this way since 2nd grade.  Well, I wore it down once in 6th grade for a project (I am a freshmen now) and that was only half the day.  Plus, I have naturally pin straight hair (Like, no curls, waves, anything what so ever) and I curled it and wore it half up half down.  (I had to look like a historical person...)  I got way to many compliments (Oh, how pretty, you should wear it this way more often, etc.)  and I do not like that much attention so I haven't worn it down since.  I have been liked, but never asked out or asked to a dance.  (8th grade dance, homecoming...) yet.  Is this why?  Is wearing your hair the same way everyday a MAJOR turn off to boys?  Or should I not worry, it doesn't matter?  Do they care that much?  I'm just wondering if this is why, or am I actually ugly.  Because I am not that ugly, pretty good looking, really.  Been told I am pretty often.  (But never by boys at my school obviously.  :p)  Thanks!

ponytails are for working out, unless they are cute looking and the only nice once in a while. please please please switch it up. I hate going to school and see people wearing there hair the same way or looking like they don't do it. if you have pin straight hair try braiding it wet at night to get some cute waves. you can always do half up half down, you can do S curls where you just wrap the hair around the barrel and not put it in the little clip thing.

you can wear headbands and pin your bangs back in a poof. go on youtube and watch some videos on different hair styles.

Honestly stop with the ponytails. One of my best friends was like you I literally had to go to her house and steal all of her hair elastics ( well not steal  because she let me take them.) I know that you don't like the attention but its because you only wore it down once. Trust me after 3 days people will stop complimenting you because they will get used to it. Everyone likes change but if you REALLY hate wearing your hair down then its okay to wear ponytails. To be honest its not that big of a deal but its fun to change it up.

I doubt it would be a major turn off. Just alternate your hair, that's what I do :). Go on youtube, there are so many hair tutorials that will get you compliments, they're all gorgeous :D! A major turn off for a boy would be bad breath or bad teeth or just a really bad personality. If it's making you think boys won't like you, stop wearing your hair like that! Or just wear it like that a couple of times a month :) x

i agree with "smileeyface", I think you should change your hair style & as for the compliments you wouldn't be hearing them after few days. and I myself, I like ponytails but if you make it everyday it would be kind of boring, so to keep yourself looking nice with your ponytail you should change from time to time.

The same hair style daily is FINE, and ponytails will ALWAYS be cute & in style! My best friend wears the same ponytail to work every day & gets asked out CONSTANT! If you like it, wear it!

Start wearing it down, but don't really do anything to it like curl it. Just wash it, brush it, and leave it naturally down. After a few days, people will get used to it. Just put it in a ponytail for working out and stuff like that.

Look, ponytails are not this boring... I mean, not always. I know 2 girls that look just awesome with ponytail and bangs and they even look twice as hot compared to how they would look with any other hairstyle.

Wear your hair down. Looks much better. And you can do things like flipping it from one side to the other which can be attractive.

It probably doesn't suit you perfectly. There's this girl who wears a ponytail most of the time, and yet she's AMAZING. And asked out. :) It's the headshape that matters ladies!

DO NOT WEAR YOUR HAIR ANYMORE, just leave the ponytail alone, trim the sides so it works for the pony better.  HAVE A HAPPY LUCK :D
