What does it mean when a girl always avoids eye contact with you?

This girl I like at work has a boyfriend and every time we run into each other or I pass by her, I noticed she avoids eye contact, but I don't know what this means. Something to mention is that she doesn't look up or down, she always looks to the side, and she only turns the eyes without turning the head, she either keeps walking, sometimes faster, or if she is behind a desk, she gets distracted; but I also noticed she looks at me from the distance when I'm not looking at her, but this happens rarely, most of the time she doesn't show me too much attention. Sometimes I would day hi to her and she would say hi back, but without eye contact at all, it's very weird. What do you think this is?

She is just trying to avoid you because she thinks you are weird

She learned that is good not to show interest and she does it for status reasons

She likes you and looks at you from a distance so he won't notice who or what she is looking at. This is also why she doesn't turn her head but rather turns her eyes to see you. Maybe she feels like it would be disrespectful to flirt with you in front of the person she is with. If you ever see her alone you should attempt to talk to her. If you have said hi to her than she' knows you have noticed her and is interested. But the factor still remains she has a boyfriend. She could be unhappy and would rather be with you but maybe feels you wouldn't be interested. If you want her to know you take an interest then smile at her or look at her try making eye contact and hold it for a while. Talk to her when he isn't around. stuff like that. IF you know her name add her on fb or whatever.

The boyfriend situation is overwhelming when you wana drift your eyes in a nother direction. It could be that she likes you and is trying to be a good girlfriend, or...you could be over thinking a little because your human and it happens to the best of us. But if you feel your getting weird signas then she possibly is into you.

It sounds like she feels nervous are you, or she may have social anxiety.

Well I notice she laughs pretty easily to pretty much anything anybody around her says, also she does silly moves sometimes with nice smiles, but for the most part she looks serious when I'm getting closer. I don't know is this back and forth is what makes me like her so much.

She probably feels nervous around people/guys she's not very close with or doesn't know that well. Try building comfort with her if you can and she will most likely open up more. If you notice her being nervous around you more than anyone it might mean she spends a lot of time thinking about and or day dreaming about you.

That's the thing. I can't tell if she is nervous or not. The only thing I know is that she is way more quite around me than with others.

Oh okay, well it sounds like you have to build comfort with her for sure. She feels uncomfortable around you because she either likes you or doesn't know you all that well. By the way, a lot of people (especially girls) are great at hiding their nervousness.

This can either mean two things

1. She likes you but has a boyfriend and doesn't want to get involved with you or cause any trouble. She either wants to be with you but feels trapped by her boyfriend. Try to say more words than hi. Try to strike up conversation. Get close enough to you that she has to answer you by looking at you.

2. She thinks your weird and you staring at her makes her want to stare at you. ALso too you are working so she might be too busy working. Some girls just randomly stare too. Sorry

Ah. I did this to a one guy. I did it because I liked him secretly but wasn't supposed to, so I didn't want to give myself away. I was shy and too afraid to find out if he still liked me back, as this was after a breakup.

See the thing with my situation is that she currently has a boyfriend and also I think she may know already I like her since a few people on the place knows I do, she is the only one I have never told her that.

Although I remember I told her once she look good one day she was wearing a black sweater, but that was the only day. I told her you look good today and then I looked away nervously but trying to look cool, so she may knew then.
