Can you tell when someone is intentionally ignoring you?

Last night I went to a club with my friend and there were a bunch of guys who tried to dance with me (I only dance with girls) and they just didn't seem to get it, like all the other guys. I was polite to one who wanted to dance with my friend, but he kept talking and breathing in my face, but didn't get that I was gagging on his breath. When I intentionally ignored him to dance to a Panic At The Disco song, he kept trying to interrupt me, so I had to tell him off. I just wanted to go out dancing with my friend, not breath alcohol breath. Another guy kept trying to talk to me even though I turned my back on him (his friend kept invading my space and got kicked out). Every weekend there's at least one guy like that who just doesn't understand that ignoring them is the easiest way to say you're not interested

Usually I get the hint fairly fast when a girl is not interested and I leave her alone. Some people just feel entitled, are too drunk or refuse to be rejected

Well I dont know if I can tell but I am not overly sociable and I certainly dont go dancing so I would never be like the guy in your description
If people are ignoring me it is quite possible I won't know because I am ignoring them because I ignore most people

I’m usually the one doing the ignoring, and I can say from experience that some girls are just as bad as the guys you described, especially when they get drunk and embolden

If someone arrived at the conclusion that you are within his taste range, imbuned with alcohol, ignoring then just makes you a priviledged, arrogant prick, regardless of your gender. Instead, humankind developed a tool called communication. Words expressed cannot be misinterpreted, and if that is a possibility it's your fault for not being clear enough. It's presumptuous to expect strangers to get your body language, in tge dim light of a club with alcohol involved, so you become a target for the fustration all the other girls that ignore, created.

Read books, enrich your vocabulary and oratory skills, learn about tact and diplomacy and be kind. Being reactive to the behaviour of others, after you partially caused it by ignorance, is even more idiotic.

Not sure what you're implying there. I read everyday. Reading has nothing to do with "oratory skills". And I was kind until he couldn't take the hint that I didn't want him breathing alcohol breath in my face and wouldn't stop pestering me when I wanted to dance

No I didn't just ignore him. I spoke with him whole he was dancing with my friend. I tried to ignore him because he was breathing in my face. Yes he was tactless with that

I don't know if you've ever been to a club, but you can't just talk on the dance floor because it's too loud. You have to yell in someone's ear. But he wasn't yelling in my ear--as I've said--he was breathing in my face

He was disgusting. He should have kept his breath away from my face. If he acted like all the girls and a couple of other guys there, it would have been fine

No. You guys reacted to what I originally posted. I am the OP, so not reactive. I discuss things with people in a non-reactive way because I encourage discussion. But I call out abuse and name-calling, especially if it is incorrect. You are the immature ones who chose to call names in reaction to my question

That's excellent advice you should take for yourself. Quit trying to debate something you know nothing about. You don't know me or anything about me, so you're unqualified to make a judgment about how authentic my personality is. Furthermore, I have enough self-esteem to not let your derogatory intentions plant even a seed of doubt in my perception of myself

And I'd rather be stuck up than intentionally rude like you. So even if you're going to continue to think poorly of me, I at least know I have more integrity than someone who is so unhappy with themselves they have to try and cut down people they don't even know online
