If a girl asks you if you have kids?

There's this girl at work and in the last couple of weeks we've become pretty close and we tease and joke with each other a lot. We are both in our mid 20s and in all of our conversation we have never mentioned if we are in a relationship. Yesterday, all of a sudden she asked me if I had any kids...A normal question, I told her that I didn't have any and I asked her why, then she said "somebody told me you did".

All my friends at work know I don't have any kids so I don't know who could've told her that or if she used that as an excuse to ask, I just played it cool and joked about it. I like her quite a bit but I'm not sure if she likes me, we sometimes text each other but it's not the same as when we are face to face, texts seem a little less lively and she never texts me first, so I don't know what to make of it.

Maybe its just me, but if I asked a girl if she had kids, as nosy as it may seem, I would do it if I was interested in her, any opinions will be appreciated.

My opinion is that someone else in your work may also like her and said that you had kids to put her off and to look at whoever the person who said it instead.

If I was getting close to someone and asked if they had kids it would be for the reason that I'm interested in dating someone (same as you).

Texts aren't the same because you don't know what sort of tone is added by it.

What I think you should do is show that your interested also ask her to grab coffee and talk face to face, then slowly make it to something she would like to do.

This shows that your interested in what she's interested in, so ask her what she would like to do :)

Defiantly asked that question because she wanted to know the answer. There is not a rumor. She likes you . Perhaps she has a child herself and wants to know where you stand on that issue.

I've a similar situation.

A relatively new girl at work recently asked me "Do you have 2 kids or 1?" In the middle of a brief work related chat when we were recently alone. It caught me off balance, as I was mid sentence talking about work when she asked me.

I'm married, and have no kids at present. I didn't mind her asking, but I never shared any personal info with her prior to this, and most other people at work already know I don't have kids. I found it really strange that she assumed I did have kids, it was an awkward moment.

A couple of my colleagues think she likes me romantically, is it maybe more innocent than that?

She definitely has a liking to you she just wants to know if your committed or if your already with some responsibility(kids) and as for the rumor probably this was made up to phish info about your personal life.texting is good but not as good as talking in person or at least calling.take time asking her out to know her better =)

Girls are really weak, especially in this society, you're so isolated and never see people, it really breaks your spirit, and for womens already fragile spirit it's even worse.

I know from experience, I am also like this in text, cause it's like, I wanna just do something on the internet, and can't be bothered just texting a guy, I wanna BE with a guy and have a boyfriend, texting does nothing fo me, cause the man isn't there, it's just an electronic device with words on it.

When you're with a guy you like, phyiscally IRL, or even just friends, it's like you feel their soul warming you, giving you life, she prob is really sad and doesn't feel that life and innner strength when she's not with you.

So yeah, she seems to be into you, and she was asking if you had kids cause she didn't want a guy with kids, it's that simple, she just wanted to be taken care of and loved, without having to dive into kids way before she's ready.

So yeah, just ask her out, that's what she's wanting.
