Girls: Do you dislike when a man is too attentive to you?

When a man is overly attentive to me, it really starts to annoy me, which then makes him think that I'm not appreciative. I certainly appreciate when a man is thoughtful and chivalrous, but I think that a true gentleman is one who knows when to tend to you and when to take a step back.

Agree? Disagree? Do you think that a man can never be to attentive to you or does it get on your nerves sometimes too?

Everyone is different. What makes a woman a true lady. This man is not the one with a problem. The person with a problem is you because your looking for an answer. If you measure a man by a true gentleman, than you should also measure a woman by a true lady. In this case, your a woman, so maybe you should address your feelings like a true lady and try not to address his feelings. Like you said about a true gentleman knowing when to step back, how about a true lady knowing when to step forward. He doesn't know when to step back because he can't read your mind and know how you really feel, that's when a true lady steps forward and tells him straight up.

I am addressing my feelings. I'm always open with the man I'm with and explain to him my boundaries and what sort of behavior I can handle. I never said in my question that when I have a problem with a man, I never tell him. That was your assumption. I ALWAYS tell him straight up. All I asked was if other girls felt this way too and it looks like they do.

I said that IF your were going to measure a man by a true gentleman (whatever that is), then maybe you should measure yourself by a true lady, that is my OPINION. To be honest, what kind of responses did you expect. Of course people are going to agree, or not, or whatever, I don't think that's the point. AND he thinks you don't appreciate him, then yes I am going to assume that you aren't open and honest BECAUSE if you were open and honest to him, then he would understand and not feel that you don't appreciate him, make sense. Not only that but if you think I assumed "a lot of stuff" then why did try to prove yourself to me like you actually think your a true lady, its a perspective. In my opinion yes, a guy can be too attentive. I need my personal space and alone time every once and a while and it can be annoying when a guy won't let me be for a little while.

I think it really depends on the girl. People are different... and one person might like plenty of attention, while another may only like "enough" of it.
