Is she interested, scared or messing me around?

I started talking to a girl through work that I'd never met as she works at a different site. We added each other on facebook, swapped numbers and email addresses. We were talking, texting and emailing all day everyday and talking for up to 2hrs a night for 4/5 weeks before we decided to meet. I know she really liked me up to this point because she kept saying we should do stuff together in the future and that she wanted a cuddle when she'd had a bad day. I met her on a Saturday and we had a really good time, we flirted, held hands, kissed. She kept commenting on how well dressed I was and that I was better than she expected. She was really nervous and kept playing with her hair, smiling and laughing at my jokes. I kept complimenting her throughout the day and had lots of fun banta. I said I'd love to see her again and she said she did but would to come to see me as I made the effort to travel to see her. When I left that night to come home we text each other goodnight and it was all good. She then text me 20 min later saying "I want another kiss :( xx" which I took it to mean she was missing me already. For the next few days she was really distant and didn't seem to be interested. She then text me on the Wednesday saying "Your a great guy but just not for me. I'm glad we met take care xx" I was gutted because I really like her but I decided just to get on with it. I couldn't stop thinking about her for the rest of the week and decided to send her a message on Saturday from facebook asking what had happened and why she didn't want to see me again as I thought we clicked and was confused. She didn't reply until the Monday and she text me saying "Hi babe. Sorry I haven't replied to your message. Had problems with my computer so will do it as soon as its working again. How are you? How was your weekend? XX" We sent a couple of small talk texts and I have heard nothing since.

I am really confused. If she wasn't interested surely she would of just message me back saying. Please leave me alone or just not even bothered to reply. Plus that fact she started the text message by saying "Hi babe". Its not like we really good friends or we even going out. We just started talking hit it off and met her once.

The lastest update on this is that she is texting me about once a week just to see how I am and general small talk. I do text her back but I make her wait say 30-40 mins. I'm nice to her because that's who I am and I still like her but I never text her 1st

Also she has emailled at work to. Again I was nice and didn't respond straight away. Maybe if I play this weel there's a 2nd chance for us.

I think she is interested in someone else and they have finally gotten together or the ball has started rolling again. I guess she liked him but he was unavailable (i.e., not returning her interest) when she was going with you.

Take her word for it when she said, "Your a great guy but not for me". if I said that I would mean it. It means she recognizes you have great qualities but the chemistry is not there. She feels chemistry with someone else at the moment (whether or not they are a couple) that is how she knows she doesn't have it with you.

Even if I am totally off, she seems flaky and unreliable, so either way I suggest you just move on and forget about it.

well first off the fact she was playing with her hair indicates she is self conscious around you. later in the text there's a sad face which would indicate something bad happened my guess bad ex came back, family issues or even she might be depressed. After people meet from online it usually looses the fun of not knowing who it is your talking to. my advice on this is to find that fun. Call her ask her if she's OK and yes or no, rain or shine go see her talk to her in person, let her know your there for her. as for the babe text don't look too much into it I call all my guy friends hun, its just a reaction. I just have a feeling she is starting to miss u.

Thanks for the advice. I have since updated my facebook status implying that I met a girl recently who was amazing and within 5 min of posting it she text me asking if I was OK and who the status was about. I told her it was about her and she seemed really surprised as she thought it was about someone else. The texts were nice and she was asking me questions about my weekend etc. so she must be interested in what I'm doing. How long should I leave it before I call her? I was thinking a week or 2

a week at tops generally go by the 3 day rule of last contact, like if you two stop texting for 3 days call her check up on her see how she's doing. you really should hang with her again, sheing her in person will give you the insite whether she's acting different and such, ya know.

So I bit the bullet today and called her. I ask her a few things like: does she like, want to see me again, why do you keep texting me, your givining me mixed signals etc.. Basically she said she did like me and thought are date went well but didn't feel any connection or feel anything. She's not looking for anything right now. Blah blah blah. I think its over and I can move on :)
