I think its important to put the past in context. I think frontiers people were very brave, the present would be completely different without them
Are we going to do the same with the greatest generation that landed on the beaches of Normandy and islands on the Pacific because though they were fighting nazism, imperialism and fascism in the US segregation, Jim crow and institutional racism was in full effect. Jessie owens could win gold at the Olympics in nazi Germany, Joe Lewis could beat naxi Germany's boxing champ, Vernon Baker old win the bronze star, silver star, purple heart and perform heroism in ww2 that would later see him finally awarded the MOH in 96 but none of these men could get a burger and coke in certain restaurants. Are we going to wash away the bad with the good because certain aspects of are past are ugly?
