We went on a "date" and now he's ignoring me. What is going on?

Before I ask my question, it's time for a backstory:

The guy and I met at a school function, we don't go to the same school, but it was a county-wide school function. We hit it off talking about politics of all things, and we exchanged Facebooks and for a week we were talking constantly on Facebook before we decided to exchange cell numbers.

Anyways, for that weekend and every other day he would call me and we'd talk for about an hour or two. It was pretty fun, and then the next Sunday night he asked if I'd like to go see a film with him. I agreed, thinking it'd be fun. Well, over the course of the week he asked me where we should go eat, blah blah blah.

Well, the day finally came and we had a pretty fun outing. Not sure if I'd call it a date, per se, but it was fun. By modern definitions it would be a "date" -- Dinner, movie, and then just hanging out afterward. He said it was fun, I thought it was too.

Anyways, come this week. He's pretty much been ignoring me. I'll get on Facebook, and then he'll suddenly get off. Off and on, off and on. I'll try to start conversations with him occasionally, but I just want to talk to him because he's fun to talk to. We have plenty of things in common, so there's very little not to talk about.

Normally, I wouldn't care. However, the fact that we kind of sort of went on a "date" and now he's ignoring me. What is up with that? It's pretty irritating.

There are two distinct possibilities.

First, he is ignoring you because you scared him off through some means or another.

Second, he has something going on other than you.

If you guys went on a "date" then there is the possibility that things didn't go so well, and now he is moving on. I can see this quite easily, the whole "this was fun"' thing means nothing really. It is as common a lie as anything. You guys got your date, and things went. whether they went well or not is up to you, but things are a bit different between you two. I would think it odd that he completely ignore you, most guys are decent enough to at least end things and find closure before perfectly ignoring someone. You could just call him.

Of course, you guys are not living in perfect proximity, seeing as you don't go to the same school, there are probably things that he is up to other than you. I'm sorry, his world may not revolve around some girl that he met a couple of times. He could be toally into you, but you guys aren't "dating" yet, so don't expect too much. You could just call him

Call HIM, and get things sorted out.

The best thing you can do is ignore him for a week or two, then try contacting him again to see if he wants to go out again. If he was really busy, then he probably ignored you just so he could focus on whatever it was that made him busy. If he signs off when your on, maybe he just dosen't want to be distracted with you right now until he feels like talking to you again. The worst case senario is that he found someone else or lost interest...but don't worry to much, it's common for guys to ignore girls for awhile then come around later...this has happened to me several times. So, just hang in there and things have a good chance of working out as long as you don't rush or force anything. Good luck!
