i have a crush on a friend of mine. he mentioned that when we were in calls together that we were in zweisamkeit and asked if it had an English translation. i looked it up, and the meaning was to be alone together (and was often used more romantically than platonically). was he flirting, or maybe hinting at something?

I would say its a flirt, we in germany don't use Zweisamkeit in a platonic, friendship way.
