I tried to dash up a vert ramp and do a huge skateboard trick on it that I hadn't fully mastered just yet (540) while a girl I liked from high school was nearby. I landed it but then my board flew out under me and I slammed so hard and also the vert ramp had a nail sticking out of the flat bottom which tore up my entire back.

It turned out the vert ramp was soaking wet and closed for maintenance. I didn't notice since I was skating the indoor bowl until I show the girls show up outside in front of the vert ramp.

Then I tried to limp it off acting all cool but she and another girl were like, "Ohmagodddd! Are you okay?" Then I was like, "[Screaming inside]... uh... ugh... I'm f-f-fine [owwwwwww!]" Then the other girl shouted, "OMG! The back of your shirt is soaked in blood!" And I'm like, "Whoops! [Oww]." Then I was still trying to play it off all cool like, "Well, you know, it happens. No big deal. [limp away from the scene and cry]"

  This was also in the evening so I didn't notice the ramp was soaking wet and also didn't notice that nail sticking out. But I was like, "Pretty girl I like from school! Quickly, show off to her!"

  I had so many like that when trying to show off to impress a girl backfired. In another case, I saw a pretty girl I liked again in the schoolyard and there was a high fence about chest-high between grass and pavement. And I had tried jumping over it before and cleared it just fine but that one time, my foot didn't quite make it and I face-planted straight on the pavement. Then it was almost a similar reaction from that girl like, "OMG! Are you okay?" Then it's like my nose is gushing blood along with my mouth and I'm like, "Grglgrl. Yeah, fine! No problem. I do this all the time!"

  @exitseven For some reason, I seemed to turn into a total clutz every time I was showboating to the girls. I suffered all the worst injuries during those times and including doing things that didn't hurt me 99% of the time. :-D
