Girl keeps saying I talk to her like a friend?

Well my girlfriend keeps saying that talk to her as a friend (ie How’s your day, how’s work, what’s in your mind, Anything new going on with you, what did you do today, etc). I don’t know what else to do. It seems like she keeps asking me to do all these things, and I am trying. Then on the other hand I don’t really get much from her.
