Why do people give you their numbers & not text back?

It's really getting on my nerves. I had this 1 former friend, gave me her # & we would txt. However, she only texted me when there's gossip & anything else, like wishing her a happy holiday - no reply! I finally told her I'm done with her. That I'm tired of her only giving me the time of day when something juicy is going on. Surprise surprise! She replied & said she was hurt. I didn't reply, deleted her # & never texted her again.

Now, this guy at my work place offered me his # because we were friends (just friends, we're not interested in each other that way, plus he has a girlfriend of many years). So the next day I gave him a brief hello txt, no reply. I texted him very little, but he never replied to any of them. I deleted his number off my phone & never texted him again. We see each other all day & he is super friendly to me, so I don't get what the hell his problem is? He always goes on about liking me as a person so much, & is the first to hug me when I'm upset, so what the hell?

I think it's rude & stupid. It's like someone talking to you in real life, & you not answering them. I understand things go on & you can't always immediately reply, but if you totally ignore like that you are rude & stupid.

WHY give your number to start with? I just don't understand. It's even harder on me because these are people I see everyday, & they say I'm a good friend they love! My real friends always reply.

I thought this might be a whole other kind of question haha.

I have a reputation in the places where I drink to occasionally get too drunk and make bad decisions, IE - UGLY BITCHES.

So my good friend Marc came up with this great Idea to get a "burner esc" phone and add a rude Vm message and text auto reply that let the girl know no amount of drunkenness on my part would have f***ing her tonight or into the future and she should go ahead and delete the number never to call it again.

So why give them the number at all? Because some bitches will go crazy and start yelling in the bar if you refuse them your number. I never reply to the texts I get on that phone but the voice mails are priceless!

A girl drank my shot of top shelf as she was yelling at me,

i couldn't but crack up at her, degrade her as the bar laughed with every pun and tell her she had just crossed the line by drinking my shot; that she had broken my heart and I would like her to leave my house.

I said all this with very large gestures to make it more ridicules and when she did not proceed out the door, the bar owner through fits of laughter sent security to see her out and paid my tab for the night in "my house." :D

This has nothing to do with my post, but I guess it's amusing. I remember getting very drunk & made poor choices with some very disgusting pigs - never again! It only happened twice but I felt so sick. NEVER AGAIN!

I wouldn't assume someone gave out a number because they wanted to be texted. I call people when they give me their number.

Fair enough, but keep in mind txting is a leading way to communicate in today's day & age. They also made the offer to txt, & I see them txting others. It's confusing to me. Even if you're not big on txting, be courteous enough to reply, & tell them your preferences.

I'm talking about friendships, so boys & girls. Also, I get what I want from them, it's just confusing why some of them behave the way they do, especially when they claim to love. Anyway, you? You just come here to be a bitter f--k.
