I might aswell just tell you how I met my girl. I was in the gym using a Smith machine incorrectly. And then this half Japanese girl walks past me and tells me Im doing it wrong and calls me fat. So we get into an argument and we threaten to knock each other out ( I'm not aggressive I swear) few seconds later I get a crush on her. She somehow feels the same. And... u get it.

Basically when she flirts, sometimes it's like something cute and small like a stroke or flick. Sometimes it's something like a punch on the arm or a headlock. Lol.

I think as a shy person, I would recommend that you leave the comfort zone a little bit

They haven't to be honest I approached them first and started things so there really was never a need for witty, subtle flirting.

Or maybe I was just to dense to pick up on what they were doing if they were flirting, I'm not the best at noticing that kind of stuff when it comes to strangers.
