He held me while I cried. How does he feel/what was he thinking?

I was really mad and hurt and started crying (and I never cry). And a guy I know but not super well held me while I cried. He's two years older. Was this simply brotherly? Or something more? Thanks.

Some men are affectionate and want to protect a woman they see cry. You're probably not used to it because there are other guys who don't know how to handle a woman crying. They feel awkward because they are not in tune with their emotions, you understand? Or he just assumes that women want to be held from his previous experiences. There are some women that don't want to be touched when they cry. Everyone's different. The only sureproof way you will know is if you ASK HIM! Don't be afraid because guessing and analyzing will only get you far. If you want answers, you have to ask questions.

It all depends on the guy. I mean maybe he is a nice sympathetic guy who felt bad. But usually guys don't just hold guys while they cry..especially ones they don't know very well. So, it could mean something more.

He is a sympathetic person, which is rare. Brotherly? Definitely. I would not take this action as something more. If he asks you to go out with him, then that would be known as something more.
