My boyfriend hasn't texted all day and only texts me late at night. Why?

My boyfriend doesn't text me during the day anymore. He texts me at like midnight. When I'm generally asleep and he knows this. Should I respond when he does this ( if I'm awake.) And why has he started doing this? And does it mean anything?

I am (was?) having this exact same problem with my boyfriend.
We only meet up in the weekends and when we do, he acts the same as always. However, during the weekdays when we don't see each other, he was starting to text me lesser and later, until it was only once past bedtime and no real conversation.

I told him last time we met what I thought, that he doesn't seem to want to talk with me anymore. I was just sad, not really demanding anything. He was quiet at the time, but this week he's been making an effort to write more often, and more meaningfully.
I will actually go home for Christmas and be away from him for three weeks. It may be a good thing after all.

Sorry, kind of talking about my own issue.

If he only texts you during times he knows you're probably gonna be asleep, generally that means that he doesn't really want to have a real conversation with you or something. I agree with enchanted, if you text him during the day and he doesn't text you back until midnight then he's losing interest, it seems. If he continues to do that, you might as well break it off because there's no point in being with someone that never wants to talk to you, ya know? Sorry, I hope this helps:)

Why don't you try texting him FIRST during the day? Don't text each other *all* day long, but when it's time for you to go to bed just say goodnight and hopefully he'll get trained to not text you at odd hours.
