So you see a good looking guy, talk to him in a friendly way and everything. Suddenly you want to make the next step. What do you do? Share your experiences...

Also guys, how would you feel if a girl hits on you or asks you out, and which is the best way for us to do that?

This is the way I would prefer.

Chat with him a lot, find his interests, help him with his on going efforts in life. (You don't have to get fully into it. - Just a few favours here and there would do it). Ask him to go somewhere with you (to see a gallery or museum or carnival or anything you both like). Go alone. Be playful with him. Few accidental (or obvious if the time and event is perfect) touches would be great. This is really important, get in pace with him. He will get the hint and he might ask you out instantly. Getting into his pace is really important. You can't rush it or delay it.

A couple of girls who were interested in me blew their chance. I will list them as what's not to do.

Not getting into my pace. Living in a totally different world. Arguing a lot. Making it public or making grand gestures before getting into anything specific. (Don't involve anyone else before settling in - because that would be an added pressure to make a decision - guys don't like to make decision under external pressure/bias. Same goes with making grand gestures like giving them expensive presents. It's all added pressure, like a blackmail or forcing to make a decision).

It’s fairly common for girls to ask guys out.

a lot depends on settings, my girlfriend asked me on a date she had sorted before hand.

Its about timing, not pushing them in a corner and being too in your face.

Look for how to get close and chat, this is influenced on where you usually interact.

Things like discussing a new movie can work, as they may suggest it, or food types etc, if they don’t, then just ask if they fancy it.

being fun, happy, and open is great and means they are more likely to act positively.

So, I was the one to ask out my current partner. I won’t explain the whole story but basically I started some small talk with him. Just chatting.

Once I saw signals he was interested (smiling, laughing, looking at my eyes) I decided to ask if he’d like to have lunch sometime.

We are now engaged and marry at the end of this year.

Depends, for how long have you been talking to each other?
No matter how well we click with each other, there should be a minimum amount of time before either of us asks each other out (2-3 months for me personally).

If she's the one who's approaching, I'd appreciate her to be direct or at least obvious when it's about taking things further.

Usually while talking to him I’ll sit or stand closer to him than what normally would and I’ll playfully keep touching him. Most of the time they pick up the hint and ask me out.
