Should you approach a guy or just show interest and let him approach you?

asking because i know men are "hunters" should we still be somewhat hard to get or just be straight forward with showing interest?

Probably the thing that bothers me the most about the masculine gender role is the idea that we are always supposed to be the pursuers. Which is something that has always made me uncomfortable.

There was this girl I knew in college briefly and we were both kinda into each other but neither one of us was willing to take the risk of pursuing it, so it just kind of died on the vine. I regret this now, but it definitely would have been better if she had been the one to make the first move, because at that point in my life it would have been hard for me to make a pass without spending a lot more time with her.

it's funny because I liked someone recently and definitely shot my shot with him, gave him my number, and he never followed up to make plans with me after giving me so many indications that he liked me. I was so disappointed.

The way to approach someone is to figure out what they like doing and do it, too. This gives them an excuse to talk you, which men have a lot of trouble coming up with.

@normalice agreed but even if you find the interest of the other person and initiate a conversation at first they will intrigued by you. However if they realize your interest in their hobby is just to get to know them they may become more distant eventually.

For some personality types, that is true. Others less so. But it is also the case that anyone can become genuinely interested in any hobby given time. It is best to find a hobby first and then find a guy already doing it but there is nothing wrong with the reverse. Indeed the sort of guy who gets upset when you stop being actively involved in their hobby is generally the sort of guy who isn't interested in relationships with anyone at all, having nothing to do with you.

It depends on the guy mostly. I can't give you any specific advice as different people should be treated differently, depends of the character of the other person.

Maybe firstly try to see if by showing you're interested he comes to you. If not then just do what you have to do.
I'm pretty straightforward when it comes to these stuff and when I'm sure I'm totally into him (don't do it if you're not, take it time if u need).
