Well, you are 18. This is just a starting point. Take what you can from it and move on when you can.

What *can* you take from it?

1. Lower clothing costs, since a good part of your day is wearing their uniform and not wearing out your better clothes.

2. Free surplus food. Sure, it is crap, but at 18 that's not such a dietary hazard, as you still burn calories and process crap with relative ease, compared to oldsters like me anyway.

3. Low tax bracket, and if they ANY kind of tax deferred savings plans on their payroll, take advantage of it.

4. Hours that are flexible, and if they make your life too difficult, you can likely bail for another low wage service job. (Given what has happened to the economy, this flexibility may be constrained or even gone in your area, but once that changes again, it will be true again.)

5. Less downside risk. For example, dating coworkers is a BAD idea in a serious career type job, especially if you are male. But this is not a serious career path, so you can take risks and not worry as much about it.

There are many options you can work at Wal-Mart (Personal Shoppers start at $16 and cashiers at $14)

You could also fill your time with odd jobs through a temp agency like PeopleReady.

Look for another job. McDonalds jobs is designed for those without job experiance. First job is rarely anyoneones dream job.
