So there's this guy in my life that is in a sense forbidden fruit for me. He is my lifelong best friends ex (they were together for years) I always found him attractive but would never actually do anything with him because I know it would hurt my friend. We still have mutual friends and he ended up on a weekend cabin trip with me and some of our mutuals. There was a time I was walking up the stairs in front of him and he jokingly said "hurry up" and picked me up by my torso and lifted me up a couple stairs. That's all that happened between us and there was no intent on my behalf for him to touch me but I can't stop myself from thinking about it. Am I awful for being so affected by this? Do you think this was just him being playful or do you think he is affected by it the same? Do you think he thinks about that moment as well? I'm 27 years old and don't know why such a small gesture is getting to me this much and why I hope that he is affected by it as well.

It sounds like you are overthinking it. I wouldn't look at it as some sign that he wants more. Not that it couldn't be that, I just don't think it is. Here is why. I think he was likely excited because you are away on a weekend holiday. I'm sure you were pretty pumped too. He just got overly excited and was messing around.

The other thing is that you have known him for a long time. He is likely very comfortable with you and joking/teasing or whatever you want to call it. I think it was just a moment and nothing more.

What I am curious about is the rest of the weekend. Was everything else normal with him and you like it always is or was he acting different the whole weekend. That would be interesting to know. I think more context of the entire weekend and his behaviour could change my opinion but I'm not sure how much you want to share. So, my opinion is based on the details you gave. Hope it helps.

This actually happened when we were packing up to leave. We were both going upstairs to get more things to put in the car. I caught him checking out my butt a couple times through out the trip and making some flirtatious comments (what seemed like flirting to me anyway)

Ok, so now my opinion has changed. There very well may be some intention there. If he was flirting with you over the weekend and then that happened, seems like he was getting bolder. Thanks for the extra info, that explains a lot.
