I work with a doctor that lives about 6 hours away from me.
He’s married and has been married for about 2 years.
A few months ago, he let me know that he was coming into town for a conference for a couple days.
Prior to this, we would contact each other through email so I figured since he was coming into town for the first time, I’d give him my number.
We started texting, usually about work, then when he came into town, he asked if I wanted to go to dinner- I said yes.

We met up for drinks, food, and smoked a bl*nt in his car.
We had a lot of fun, telling stories, laughing, listening to music.

Ever since then, we text pretty much every day except for weekends (sometimes but not usually).
No, he did not mention he was married prior to meeting up with him.
No, I am not going to be a homewrecker.
I don’t know if he is just being friendly or if he likes me, what are ya’lls thoughts?

Why did you smoke weed in his car? Whether you knew he is married or not you know there is drug testing in hospitals, don’t be stupid. Keep it platonic and professional if you feel like he’s trying something sneaky which in my opinion is very possible. I would only interact as needed for work and be very clear about how you feel. I would also recommend asking him what his intentions are and if he says something questionable. Make it clear you’re NOT doing anything.

It’s really sad in the medical profession how bad sleeping around really is. You trust these people with your life you think a lot of them have a high level of moral and ethical integrity, which don’t get me wrong many do.

This is a side rant but honestly if someone could so deeply betray someone they at least claim love. Imagine what they would do to a perfect stranger.

Playing dumb is very annoying, and you are really trying here. You gave a MARRIED man your phone number, then you went to dinner with that MARRIED man. Unless you are completely brain dead you knew that was not a good idea. Is there something you left out about some professional relationship with him? Were you under his care? Are you still under his care? Save the 'I'm not a homewrecker' bullshit too. If that's true then his wife was aware of him spending the evening with you, right? And why would it matter what his intentions are? Don't be gross, the dude is MARRIED. The pot smoking, music listening dates need to end.

if you want to get confirmation he has bad intentions with you, then yes. don't trap yourself with these trap thoughts and bad situations esp as a female we get easily emotionally invested and it will blind you. You are in the foreshadowing steps of starting an affair and don't let yourself be the other woman if you have morals and respect. Well, if someone who is married does not mention he is married with all of these texting and time spent together even though you already knew of his status is a red flag. For him to also naturally do this with you, I feel like it's not the first time he probably has done it with other women even if he denies it. I am pretty friendly with my co-workers and even my work bestie who is a married man, but we do not do what you do in this situation. It's important to have boundaries.

You say you’re not a homewrecker, yet walking the path to do exactly that. As women we are emotional creatures, and even if you think it’s harmless now, when you’re carrying on like this, texting every day and going on dinner dates, you will inevitably catch feelings. Especially if he’s attractive and it seems as though he has a good job and you get along well, it’s like setting a trap and expecting it to never go off. If you were smart you’d create some distance now before you start liking him and justifying your crush or whatever happens next.
