How to connect to someone on a deeper level?

Well I know at my age I should know this, but I have yet to really hone in and actually get to a deeper level with women. I should say I am not a big talker, and the reason why I say this I am always in my head hoping that I don't want to say something "stupid," I don't know much about what they're talking about, or in my head for something else (grooming, dressing, do they find me "hot", etc). When it comes to trying to connect with someone I am interested in, I realized that I tend to keep things on the surface level. I really don't know how to connect on a deeper level, and flirt.

In general when you have a hard time talking to a woman I’d say to talk to her how you’d talk to a friend. It’s easy to get into your own mind too much with concerns about doing this or that right, but usually with friends you don’t have those worries, which is why I say that’s a good approach. From there, I think that a connection happens organically — it’s either there or it’s not. Conversation should flow naturally, without anything feeling forced or too much worry surrounding the conversation.

Man, you have to risk and get your focus off yourself. Your job is to notice them and things specific to them. And compliment those things as well as question where it is possible. They are supposed to speak from YOU ENGAGING them. From these times, they know you care and a bond will be forming. If they have to carry the conversation then it will never work. Start risking and stop worrying about Self is my recommendation. That make sense?
