How do I understand my friend?

So me and my friend think this guy is attractive I'm engaged and so is she I'm not looking at him to sleep with unless my fiance split up-but that would never happen-. She's poly and she'd never do anything to upset her fiance who's been with her for years.

So I'm a cutter my fiance knows this when major things happen I freak out and cut to feel better. I haven't in four years. But my fiance has been gone for almost no contact since August 23rd so I was going to go to a hotel (I am homeless) but I don't want to be alone because I'm pretty sure I may cut again and not stop. So I told this guy who is also our friend if my fiance doesn't show up I'd get a hotel and 2 beds and all and he can stay with me. But after I told her this she got all hurt and I'm now wondering if I'm in the wrong because I'm asking him solely to watch over me instead of sex?
