I’ve always been under the impression that asking for a woman’s number, or just generally interacting with women at all when trying they are going about their day to day life is abhorrent and severely frowned upon. Assuming I’m actually decently attractive and perfectly polite do you think there are situations where such behavior could be welcome?

I think it all comes down to knowing how to read the room and understanding when someone seems uncomfortable or reluctant, and learning to take no for an answer.
