I usually think they're friendly. I'd assume they have a crush on me only when they start doing things for me like going out of their way... or something to make me notice them or talk to them.

I try not to suspect something ahead in a situation like that. Some people are just brought up to be polite and it can come off a little unnatural sometimes. Which is fine.
