Why is my friend obsessed with getting male attention from men who flirt with me? She has other guys interested in her?

I love my friend a lot, but it's annoying that any time I get attention, whether it's a guy who is or isn't attractive to me or her, she has to emphasise that she also got attention from the same guy. She also added the guy I was talking to on instagram, and stopped talking to me/got in a bad mood when he didn't like her pictures. But when he liked a picture of hers, she started talking to me again. This happens a lot with her.

I got harassed on a night out by this creep, and other people were comforting me because he physically assaulted me and people suspect he tried to roofie me. My friend then started lying and said she'd been harassed too by the same guy, when she wasn't even there.

She gets plenty of attention from guys outside of the ones who are interested (or harassing) me, but she seems to only want the attention from the guys who are otherwise into me or pursuing me. I don't get it because it's not as if I get attention from "better" guys than she does necessarily.

Why is my friend obsessed with getting male attention from men who pay attention to me? She has other guys interested in her, but specifically wants the ones who want me.

If you haven’t already then you should talk about this with her. It gives her the opportunity to correct her behavior if by some chance she doesn’t notice the things she does. However if you have talked about it, and this is just who she is then maybe she’s not a good friend to have. I dealt with someone like this for over a decade and the only thing I wish I did differently was to stand up for myself, and cut her off sooner.

Everything your friend does lol. Ultimately I got sick of dealing with that behavior, but I was able to cut ties with more peace of mind because I knew I’d talked with her numerous times and given her many chances to change.

she is seeking approval and wants to know that she’s desired and wanted. She probably has insecurities that may be based off damaged relationships with other men like her father. Is she touchey, feeler with them like touches their arms when talking Or constantly hugging them?

Yes she's very touchy-feely and flirts a lot. But only with men I'm dealing with. Literally, a more attractive man was flirting with her and only her and she didn't seem to be interested. It's so odd.
