Never know if they liked me or just being friendly?

I noticed a lot of times I tend to either miss out or interpret things wrong. My interpretations tend to be more wrong than anything. The reason I say that is when trying to look for clues: playing with their hair, excited to talk to me/see me, body facing towards me, and other signs I think are signals; I never really get them or catch them. I’ll try to be friendly, joke around, and ask questions (when I do decide to talk. Yes I’m quiet until you really get to know me) they will answer. I try to keep it going without sound scripted or interrogative (most of the time to no avail), and it doesn’t seem to go anywhere. When other people are around they’ll talk to them no problems and just forget that I’m there. Not to mention there are times they’re talking about other guys they find interesting and so forth. I’m sitting there trying to figure out how to get noticed by them and thought of in that way. I just don’t know what I’m missing in terms of seeing the signs? Then also trying to become more interesting (which I’ll be the first to admit yes I’m boring)?
