Have you ever liked someone only to realize that they were much younger?

We were approached by a group of 7-8 young guys today and one of them asked me out, he later told me he is 18, but I found out he is actually 16, the youngest out of them all. I feel sick now for even liking him the most out of his friends. Has anything like that happened to you?

Some people act mature for their age, some people act immature for their age. And chemistry is chemistry.


You weren’t looking for someone younger. You just clicked with someone that happened to be younger. There was nothing predatory done on your part so you don’t need to feel bad that you just happened to click.


Now that you know, you can just accept and move on. Just like liking someone, finding out that they’re already married, accepting that fact, and moving on. No need to be hard on yourself.

I just feel weird why’d I feel attracted to the youngest one. Yes, I didn’t know, but I still feel uncomfortable.

It wasn’t BECAUSE he was young. He just happened to be young. Like someone you like would not be BECAUSE they have blue eyes, but they just happened to have blue eyes.

That’s understandable though. You feeling this way after discovering his actual age that he hid from you. And discovering that he was a minor lying about his age. That must have been nerve wracking. I hope you feel better soon. ☕️

It happened once, she was way mature for her age and looked like she was in her mid-twenties.

We had really hit it off and then I found out she was 19, not even 20. I avoided her from then on.

Yeah, I've had conversations with women I expected to be closer to my age, only for them to be much younger and in a different stage of life.
It's hard, especially online. Some may pose as adults and then suddenly aren't.

Sort of, but in the opposite direction. I thought she was 30 to 35, which in within my normal zone, but found out that she was 47. Didn't really bother me, but she had a son my age and it weirded her out.

That often happens here in China, the other day I met some people who I thought were 18, I found out they were actually 28.

So I don’t even know anymore, who’s young and who’s old here.
