Should I make the first move?

This guy and I have worked together for about 6 months, he is usually friendly and conversational with everyone so I assumed he was just being nice. We had a company event where he latched on to me, and got pretty touchy, but i blamed it on the alcohol we were consuming. He’s pretty playful, touching my shoulders, arms, play hitting me etc, when we’re not talking about work related things, he attempts to gauge my sexual preferences, which I don’t disclose at work. We exchanged numbers but don’t text each other much. Recently I’ve notice him staring at me more, when talking to me he’ll come really close to me and now have started complimenting my wardrobe. Just today he told me my laugh was cute, how I am his good luck charm and how he “wants to relieve some tension” with me…I attempt to try to get him to ask me out but he just laughs it off… what do I do?

he said he want to "relieve some tension" with you. What do you think that means? If you're interested in him, then go ahead and ask him out. It's not written in stone that it has to be a man that does the asking. Just be casual about it. Tell him that you're going to go have a drink and blow off some steam after work, and you were wondering if he wanted to go with you. Nothing to formal.
