Is it always obvious, like this guy I once loved; Ben, who sang to me at dinner, touched my shoulder and pressed his leg against mine at the movies? Or Alex, a friend who keeps looking at me a certain way, gazing, or is it sometimes more subtle than that? If it is, what are other kinds of signs a guy is into you?

At this point, most guys are afraid of directly flirting because if they go too far like Ben, they have a good chance of being slapped in the face. So it's all about appearances and behavior nowadays.

Long stares and gazes are obvious signs of that, but also if in your presence a guy constantly has men's cologne and wears something nice and stylish or sporty outfit that highlights his physique, instead of a half-thrown together outfit, that becomes a dead give-away of interest. He wants to be pleasing to your eye so that maybe you'll talk to him, and he can get a break through.

Guys (myself included) think our signs are obvious but in reality are normally subtle. We are afraid of rejection. We want an out if you call us out on our flirting. Most men if they like a girl don’t want to ruin what they have like a friendship so they carefully flirt. It’s my belief if a guy is talking to you then he is probably flirting. Listen carefully to the words. If a guy isn’t flirting then he doesn’t have interest in you.
