Would it be disrespectful to ask a girl out in front of their brother?

There’s this girl I’ve been wanting to ask out but I know the brother and he thinks I’m a good guy and all so he doesn’t see anything wrong with me. But I typically see her with her brother. I don’t wanna seem disrespectful I don't know if it even is. Like I’m not talking about her looks with him or anything. But what do you think?

If you have her phone number, you could try asking her out over text or a phone call. Or you can ask for her phone number next time you see her and then ask her out through a text/call.

Not that I think it would be disrespectful to either of them for you to ask her out in person, in front of her brother. But depending on her relationship with her brother, it might be just fine, or it might be a little bit awkward for one or both of them.

It's hard to know. Some brothers really don't want to think about their sister dating anyone. Other brothers don't care about that. I'd say go with whatever your gut tells you is best.

Thank you, I can maybe try asking her to have lunch with me at work. Her other brother knows i like her and wants me to ask her out right then but I was way too shy because I don’t like to fail. Which I know if I don’t try I can’t succeed either. But yeah I will ask her if she wants to go out for lunch one day this week so I can say almost everything. I can get the awkwardness thing. If my sister had a guy talk to her like that in front of me It’d be awkward

Yeah, I'd feel a little awkward too if someone asked me out in front of my brother, but that's more so because I'd know he would feel uncomfortable with it. If you can get ahold of her at work without her brother around, that sounds like a better time to try asking. I wish you luck!

I suppose everyone is different and I don't know that I'd call it disrespectful but if it were me, I'd appreciate not having an audience. That could just be me, tho. 🙂
