I think my gym crush likes me back but I’m not sure, what should I do?

I started liking this one guy I normally see at the gym a few months ago. I first noticed him, when I caught him staring at me and ever since then he has done it constantly. At times he would look at me and then I notice, he looks away, sometimes looking back to see if I am looking at him. I try smiling at him but when I do he looks away or continues staring. One time he almost forgot his headphones and he went up to his friend, and it was so obvious he was talking about me because they both were looking in my direction and there was a person who turned around to look at me. The other day, I went to the stretching area and he saw me and next thing I knew he came there to do ab workouts beside me which I have never seen him do. I want to say hi to him but unfortunately I have bad social anxiety and am shy, it doesn’t tend to go well if I approach someone first. Is there anything I can do because I feel like staring at each other and making eye contact all the time is getting annoying?

I know the struggle with social anxiety, it's tough. I say there's no harm in trying. Next time you cross paths you could just smile and say hi or if he ends up working out next to you you could ask how long he's been at the gym, if he likes it, what he's training that day... etc.

I fell in love with my gym crush from just the staring. At first I think she liked me as id catch her staring at some points bending over in front of me and mumbling something. I could just be delusional. Though after some time I began to catch feelings for her as we showed up at the same time intervals between 8-9pm or later till the gym closed which was at 12am. Non the less I fell in love and now I can't shake her from my head. I find her absolutely beautiful and amazing in general. When she does find someone and they will start working out together its gonna hurt me something fierce I know it.
