My romantic life is just a few sci-fi monsters away from feeling like a Spider-Man comic. All the drama and suck, none of the cool powers or weird costumes, but almost as much stress. With all the toxic MJ and doomed Gwen archetypes anyone could ever care to hear about. But only once a Chat equivalent to balance it out, and no true Cindy equivalent (though that may be a good thing, because that subplot was really messed up!). I arguably had a Paul steals the girl plot, but I never went crazy over it. Decided it was better to simply walk away. To eat the loss, like Gatsby, no matter how hard it is to move on.

I've run myself ragged for those that matter most to me, but I have little patience for traitors.

The Chinese say I'm born in the year of the Boar, and I mostly live up to its stereotype. One of the best friends that only a few can have, but a romantic life filled with strife.

Teaching others skills envigorates me, but modern education is toxic. I can't stand those arbitrary structures, which actually inhibit true learning. I can't do it within such an arbitrary framework. It has to be free. No shackles, no politics.

If I see something that is just plain obscenely wrong, I have to warn that the bridge is out. I can't stand to do nothing, and let anyone say no one warned them. Granted, in a world of idiots, my warning them the bridge is out will sometimes offend them, so I have to do it even if I sometimes make enemies by doing it.

Some think this makes me a hardass. But I'm often hard on myself too. I can't stand failure.

I've been told working with me is like working with a bulldog. Whoever gets it right, has one of the best experiences ever. Whoever gets it wrong, has a nightmare on their hands, self-made.

Things have looked up since my gallbladder surgery. I feel ten years younger, and some say I look it too, no longer carrying around that failed angry organ albatross across my liver that should've come out 13 years ago. I'm less gloom and doom than I used to be, even if Team Eat Zhe Bug has given all of us plenty of reasons to feel pessimistic about the future. (Gamers can't even play a Spider-Man game in peace without The Message being sharted all over their faces, and the number of videos whining about it on YouTube right now are legion!)

I'm smooth, but not rich. Unless I'm crossed, then I'm neither. No kids, but a dad bod anyway.

The biggest obstacle to the future, is that the past never wants to let anything be over. So the trick is to force its concession in the present, that the future may stand any chance. Easier said than done.

I never got a degree in therapy but I've had tonnes of people tell me I should get a degree in psychology cause apparently I'm good at soothing people and calming people down. I consider myself a hard worker. I do a good job providing for my wife and two daughters, even though they hate me. My daughters don't even call me "dad", they call me "Wally" and my wife hasn't said "I love you" in four years! Just the other day she said "I love you" to the mailman when he delivered a package she's been waiting for! I find it funny how my daughters look like him. He's a black man. I think I'll look into that. I love my dog, even though the prick bites me! I may drink too much and smoke too much but I do quit on a regular basis. Being outside that hostile environment made me see how much doesn't matter, yet people care. And they are unhappy because of it.
