More than 15 years back, a young female hairstylist out of nowhere while giving me a cut, says, "you have beautiful eyes". I have no idea what she found beautiful about them 😂😂 but i felt being over the moon because she was not too bad looking. Well, being married, you can only enjoy the imagination.

Also in the same era, like the dope I was, unknowingly, I ended up at a NYC club on a bachelorette night. It felt odd so I stayed in a corner just enjoying the music. When it started getting crowded, a very pretty young girl grabbed my hand and wanted to take me with her. It felt so wrong to me. She gave me that look of "what a dumbass... your loss" and then I see her go back to her group of 4-5 other girl friends. I could see all of them simultaneously checking out who the dumbass was. Even though it was not a direct compliment, but I consoled myself by thinking it was the biggest one I got.

Like they say.. "Life sucks... then you die !!!".

I usually get compliments about my eyes, but just like girls aren't affected as much from compliments about their looks because they get them all the time, it's the same for me with my eyes.

Best compliment I've gotten was from a hippie guy from British Columbia. He said "you're too wavy for the Toronto man", meaning I didn't have cold city vibes and was warm like people in smaller communities.

My second fav compliment was a girl saying "Wow is there anything you don't know?" when we were on a hike together, and no... she wasn't saying it sarcastically.

People like compliments about qualities that they would like to associate themselves with.

My previous boss told me during a one on one meeting that he feels that I wouldn't stay with the company for long because I'm too smart to be sticking around. This is coming from a company owner that other small company owners call for advice in how to approach certain projects.

My second would be another small shop owner that hired me on even though I told em that I'll only stick around until the company my buddy is working at gets busy. When the time came around to leave the small shop the owner offered me a company vehicle and a $10 per hour raise above my union contract. I took it as a compliment because I only worked there for 5 months and impressed him enough to offer that.

One time I was in the supermarket after work at 12am and I heard someone behind me say quietly 'you're so pretty,' & I turned around to see one of the most beautiful girls I've ever seen, no exaggeration. She was so sweet as well, like 'sorry if that made u uncomfortable' but I had to be like no, you're so pretty, cause she IS & she needs to know 😭 she seemed so kind and genuine, a really rare person

A woman on youtube said I'm sweat heart, and it seems that she really means it because she has emphasized it on multiple comments for over a month now. Sometimes I have even said, "I try to be sweet" and she says "You are sweet, and you don't even need to try." So yeah, interpret that however you want. I don't trust compliments really.
