I ride horses at a facility that has 4 barns within it. Several months ago, I was getting my horse out of it's stall when I spotted what I thought was a cute blonde go by with another trainer.
I was talking to my trainer afterwards whilst I got my horse ready and she jokingly said she'd ask the other trainer who the blonde was. Sure enough, she did, and the other trainer said that the blonde asked about me as well.
The barns don't really have much contact with each other so months went by without me seeing this girl. There were a few times, however, were she appeared and I think she was trying to put herself in a position where I could talk to her. Unfortunately, none of these instances worked out. One time she was making her way down the road separating our barns and it was right as I turned the corner to put my horse away so I didn't have time or space to back out and talk to her. Another time she walked right past me leading her horse on foot but I stopped to help two elderly ladies who were completely lost and could barely speak English so she walked on by.
Fast forward to this past weekend and the barns had a big Christmas party. I knew she'd be there so I made it a point to talk to her. Sure enough, as I was going down the aisle looking at the horses, I saw her make her way towards me. Instead of making eye contact, she immediately looked away and walked right past me as if I didn't even exist. I was bummed.
Any thought's on what happened?

What Girls Said
doesn't mean she is not interested, she couldve just felt shy looking you in the eyes, you shouldve try to talk to her regardless...
That's for the reply :) I don't think she's shy but you're right, I should have still made an effort to talk to her. I just wasn't expecting her to blow past me with her head turned away. It felt like she was trying to pretend I wasn't there.
Could be she isn't interested anymore or never was but you cannot know until you talk. Im an extrovert and I can feel shy when i like someone
You bring up some great points, thank you! I'll make it a point to talk to her next opportunity I get!
Good luck!
