So yesterday was my birthday and k went to treat myself since all my friends were busy with Christmas stuff. At the place I went to, one of the workers and I started a conversation. She asked how old I was and I said it was my birthday. We talked some more and she asked if I had girlfriend. I told her no and a little bit of my breakup from a year ago. Before I left, she came to me with a coffee mug full of candy and a box of chocolate cherry cordials and said “ Happy Birthday and Merry Christmas.” I told her thank you and got her name.

I am wondering if she was flirting with me at the end. Because they weren’t giving those out to other people. I feel like she was give those and then she gave them to me. But I’m not sure if she was flirting, just being nice, or she didn’t want the gifts and was trying to get rid of them. Thoughts anyone?

Dude, I'm pretty sure she was flirtin' with ya! Asking about your relationship status and then giving you a special gift like that at the end is a good sign she was feelin' you.

Girls usually don't just casually ask guys if they're single unless they're kind of interested, ya know? And bringing you a whole little gift basket of snacks instead of just the regular items shows she was tryin' to go above and beyond.

Plus the perfect timing of it being your birthday too, come on man! Definitely seems like more than just being friendly customer service. I'd say you definitely caught her eye.

If you're into her too, maybe see if you can swing by there again sometime. Chat her up some more and see if there's a connection. Or if you get the chance, ask for her number! You never know unless you take a chance.

So you went to a bar or a restaurant all by yourself and you assumed that the waitress, staff or other worker was flirting with you because she gave you some present.

Well, think again. People in the service industry are paid low wages and will do a lot to get a good tip. This is no different with this lady. She will smile, be courteous and everything possible to get a good tip. That is part of good business practices and nothing unusual. The coffee mug full of candy is part of their policy for those clients that have something to celebrate.

You want to believe that she was flirting but she was merely doing her job. Don't overthink and give yourself illusions. She will act exactly the same with any other client because appearing to flirt is what is attracting clientele to come again to that place rather than to another one.
