Is it wrong to like a member at the gym, when I’m an employee at the club?

Question

I’ve said, “hi.” to her twice and smiled at her a couple of times, but that’s it. She’s working out, so I can’t have a full on conversation with her, but she does notice my glances at her because she smiles.

I'm thinking about just writing a note and asking out for coffee that way instead of interrupting her workout. I don’t want to be rude and disrespectful. I don’t know, if girls would appreciate this kind of approach.

Gym time is for me, my weights, and slipknot music to get acquainted. My woman won't even come in because she already knows I'll start calling her names and punch Punch B. O. B as I do it.

With all of that said... think about that... what if she's taking her workout time seriously and you're bugging her with shit. She might be poor and has to use a public gym, and then you just make it that much worse. Leave her ass alone. Maybe lift some weights or some shit.

If the purpose of going to the gym is to get chicks by doing a thing, do the thing... otherwise, just buy some hookers and cocaine. Why complicate everything?

In your case, if you already got a smile in return, it's quite positive. by the way, according to other users, types of smile matters. For me, I'd wonder why a person smiles at me. Is it his nature? Is he trained to do so and to every customer? I may respond with a half smile and a nod to someone I never talk to.

- Try to say hi every time you see her. Get around where she is for her to notice, then leave and observe if her gaze follows you or not.

- Is she always by herself or with a friend? If so, maybe you can ask her friend for more information about her.

- Or offer her a bottle of water with a note you mentioned. It's okay to ask her out for a coffee. That's cute.

I wouldn't find that problematic at all, as long as you took potential rejection well and still treated her with politeness and respect even if she does reject you. Leaving a note is a very non-threatening way of asking a woman out, which is a good thing. Coffee is also very casual so it's less likely you'll come off like you're creeping on her. Only thing I'm wondering is how you'll make sure she knows the note is from you. Will you sign it? Does she already know your name?

I would advise you to look at your companies policies beforehand and maybe do it if you happen to catch her on the way out but maybe not inside the building because if something went wrong or you read the signs completely wrong it didn't cause a scene and get you in trouble you know?

I think that would be okay as long as the gym doesn't have policy prohibiting that. I wouldn't date a client that you're training since you could get fired (again, if there's a policy prohibiting that), but I think a gym member would be okay. I would be flattered if a trainer in my gym was interested in me (for the right intention). Haha...

Maybe ask if she needs a spot or help working out or stretch and be a little flirtatious to let her know your interested. Try to be confident when you go up to her and strike up a conversation. I don’t think it’s wrong honestly I thing it a great place to date someone even if you work there and she’s a member you don’t work together so your not breaking any rules.

No, but I'd avoid giving her extra overt attention at the gym. If you want to know her, just ask her for a smoothie sometime, give her your number and let the cards fall where they may. A lot of places would have a conflict of interest issue arise from complaints if she's treated by you any differently than any other member while you're on duty.

I don't think it would be wrong per say, just make sure that their are no rules in place that prohibit employees from dating members of the gym. I hope I don't sound silly for saying that, I've never worked for a gym.
