I've heard y'all aren't the biggest fans of being called cute. So what are some other words that mean a lot to you that aren't sexual? Handsome? Attractive? Tell me more...
I would say you need to feel you are treated with respect and that your her man. In different occasions I would like to receive different compliments. For instance sometimes I would prefer to receive personality and character compliments such as saying I admire your integrity or u have great sense of humor, or you have a positive attitude. Other times its appearance compliments such as you have a great sense of style, you are handsome, you are sexy, cute etc. Other times it could be related to my skills and talents, such as my ability to lead and inspire others, or my listening skills, being kind and caring etc.
If you only stick to telling someone they are handsome or cute without giving compliments in other areas of your life, then it will become boring and sound repetitive in my ears.

Getting the compliment isn't what feels good. Her actually thinking or feeling whatever compliment is said is what feels good. So say what you think or feel and don't worry about feeding lines.
What Guys Said
I really don't like very generic compliments since we can give those to anyone. I prefer ones that require careful observation.
For example, one of the nicest ones I received was on a date when my date pointed out that I have the most interesting way of switching back and forth between deeply thoughtful to light-hearted and funny. I didn't even notice I did that until she pointed it out and I became aware of it. So I loved that compliment since it even taught me something new about myself.
So I like compliments of this sort; ones that require paying very careful attention to the other person. I give compliments the same way. For example, one time I met a girl with a very pretty aquiline nose. So I told her she has a very beautiful aquiline nose and it reminded me of some Greco-Roman statues like certain depictions of Athena. I also drew a portrait of her face from profile to show her. Actually she was insecure about her nose so she really loved that compliment and even wrote me letters to me after she returned to France saying that none of her boyfriends ever compliment her on her nose.
Like that. I think those are the best compliments to both give and receive.

I don't mind being called cute at all... and it does happen often
it's not about me "looking cute" but "being or doing" something they do find endearing I totally dislike getting compliments. Any type of compliments that is. If I do then I will just give a deaf ear to that.
As a man, compliments are nice for sure, I really do not like the “cute” comment too much. I prefer something specific
Doesn't matter. Odds are I'll be suspicious of her motives anyways. Women don't compliment guys unless they WANT something.
