Back to serious... It depends. Not all shy guys have low self-esteem. Some are just awkward around people. Though... I guess most would still feel discouraged, as they would likely assume they've got better things to do than try and compete for the attention of a girl with such a large crowd. At some level of popularity, it's just statistically improbable for her to actually notice their existence, even if she's not exactly stuck up.
