Giving out a compliment?

Everybody like to hear a compliment from time to time. If I walk past a person that's looking quite beautiful. Is it wrong for me to say something to them. Some people take it as a positive and And some people take it negative, why?

I don't think it's wrong. Yesterday this girl was behind me, waiting for me to grab a drink so she could get her one. And when I turned around, I noticed how pretty her face was. So I said, "Wow, you are so pretty." She smiled and said thanks.

Nothing wrong with it if it is genuine.

I don't think there's anything wrong with giving someone a compliment. If they give you some kind of attitude that's there problem, not yours. Having said that, no I really don't give compliments anymore.

Nothing wrong with it but be specific and genuine that you beautiful stuff she probably hears almost everyday
