Does sitting really close to someone mean they like you?

OK, so I met this guy today at school. He was actually tutoring me for this class. Anyway, the first little while we talked about slightly related stuff and I laughed a lot even though he wasn't super funny. (I have a tendency to laugh at lots of things that are silly. I just find odd things funny.) Anyway, then he spent the rest of the time we were together (~almost 2 hours) sitting really close to me. I didn't know how to politely move away (there wasn't that much space at our table). And I'm just not sure what to think... I know some guys get all touchy feely when they like a girl. But some people also just have no notion of personal space. He wants to meet me again outside school to go over stuff, although I don't really feel like I need that much help. He's kind of cute, but it just made me sort of uncomfortable. I mean, he had his arm around my chair/legs touching/hands & arms touching/etc. What do you guys think?
