There’s an older man (late 50s) that I see occasionally bc of work. We hire him as a subcontractor from time to time, and lately my boss has been leaving me behind at the job site to supervise this guy.

the more time I spend with him, the more I’m starting to get a crush on him. He’s old enough to be my dad, but I think he looks hot. Sadly, he is married, so I would never pursue him, but I’m still crushing hard.

but I’m wondering if he might be flirting with me. I flirt with him by helping him do his work even though it’s not part of my job. And he’ll make jokes to get me to laugh. Today he was outside and it was very humid, and the two of us were sweating, and he lifted his shirt up from the bottom hem to wipe the sweat off his face.

I wondered if maybe he was trying to give me a free show lol. I feel like he could’ve just used his sleeve to wipe the sweat. he didn’t have to pull it up from the bottom hymn and expose his whole torso.

I was definitely checking him out, and I don’t know if he noticed I was checking him out… and then I was kind of blushing.

but I highly doubt he would be interested in me even if he was single. I’m 38. And i’m a bumbling dork with bad hair and no sense of fashion

I doubt that he was flirting w you. I use my shirt to wipe my face off all the time when I’m outside doing work. I do the same as him because there’s more surface area to wipe my face w. But too lifting up your shirt kind of lets out some of the heat while you’re wiping your face. Also using your arm, I don’t know how to put it. Not the most comfortable way to wipe your face off. Especially when you’re trying to pull your forearm/shoulder all the way from one side to the other. Don’t know if that makes sense.

Forget the age difference, that would not keep him from flirting. You are both adults.

Sounds to me that he likes you, and yes, may be flirting (although I'm not so sure the shirt thing was part of that flirting, I've done that too).

But he's married. So my advice is forget about it.

The things that you're claiming put you out of his league are all easily "fixable" exterior things. (And ps, the damsel in distress "bumbling" is oddly less of a turnoff when you're wearing a pushup bra, flattering blouse and jeans.)

PS, A guy ~55-57 would have had to have magic sperm to be your dad when you're nearly 40... Don't be so dramatic.

Hmm.. hard telling tbh. I always give people the benefit of the doubt and assume they’re not flirting and just being friendly. I’m not really seeing any solid evidence of flirting here though. Especially with him being married, don’t even entertain the mere thought of it, it’ll just open doors to trouble.

Either way you should avoid this. For one think about the guys poor wife and what you'd be doing to her and their marriage? If he was single I'd say go for it but he's not he's married so you need to back off and draw a line in the sand. There are boundaries that are simply wrong to cross.

Nah , I don’t think he was flirting , I just think you , because of how you feel secretly want to interpret his actions. I wipe my sweat like that a lot.

I do things with my shirt too, naturally. Sometimes I forget there are women around. However, there are times when I do it on purpose if I know the woman likes me. I have caught some staring. Yeah I knew what I was doing. I needed the validation. Leave me alone

being a dork doesn't matter too much. hair is a big one though. fashion is a bit important because if you're in oil stained sweats and a floral shirt with puffy shoulders, you probably won't look good.
