Not sure, what this means?

So there's this girl I know, she acts very strangely around me and I'm not sure what to think. She looks at me often and we catch each others eye, and sometimes she smiles but it's like a shy, apprehensive smile (she doesn't always smile). But the strange thing is she's not a shy person, she's always laughing and joking seems to be quite a bubbly person and has no trouble stating conversations or making small talk. But Everytime I approach her she seems to be a completely different person, she's a lot quieter, doesn't say anything until I speak to her, she'll just stand in silence and look at me, won't even say "hi" or anything to get my attention, her voice is normally loud and confident but around me, it's sometimes high pitched and other times it's really soft and quiet and I can barely hear her, I don't know if this is anything but she seems to stretch her words out around me etc. "See yaaaaa" or "Thankyooooou" in a quiet timid voice, I'm not really sure

There's two possibilities and they're both completely opposites. I'd say I have a loud personality and there are only two situations with guys where I get quiet. One is that she likes you and is shy. The other is that she doesn't feel the same, and doesn't want to tell you that. I'd say the best way to read this is how she spends her time. Is she sticking around by you, or does she make up an excuse to leave when you're talking? She makes eye contact, but does she try to or is she avoiding looking at you so you don't get the wrong idea? If you see her with her friends, observe how they act towards you. If they whisper and seem excited, that's a good sign. But if they're giving each other looks (not with a smile), and the girl looks uncomfortable, that could be bad. These are all little things but they can make the biggest difference. Good luck.

It mostly seems to me that she's just shy, when I'm in a situation with someone I don't have feelings for, I probably would try not to be around them at all. So it's at least good she's not avoiding you.
