my male friend just pointed out that I relate to him so well that when he says something in slang I am able to relate to it and communicate it in regular English. He was surprised to the extent that he told his sister that we were similar. What does this mean?

The thing is that we are friends and it’s a given that for us to be friends we need to have something in common. Why is he making so much emphasis on us being similar?

Hmm that's definitely an interesting thing for him to point out! A few possibilities for what it could mean:

- He's impressed by how well you "get" him and his sense of humor even when using slang. Shows you vibe on the same wavelength.

- By telling his sister, he may be subtly feeling you out to see what she thinks of you. Guys don't always share about friends of the opposite sex.

- Could be developing feelings if he's taking notice of little things about your interactions and how well y'all connect.

- Or he just finds it amusing/refreshing to have a friend he doesn't always have to explain himself to. Friends are harder to find like that!

Hard to say for sure based on that alone. But seems like a good sign he enjoys your company and sees you as someone who understands him.

I'd take it as a compliment - don't overthink! Just continue kicking it and having fun hanging as usual. See if he seems interested in getting to know you in a more flirty way going forward ☺️

My thing is that being that we are friends we are expected to have some things in common but the emphasis on us being similar and he told his sister about it is just too extreme.
