What are some ways to tell if a guy is flirting and not just trying to be nice?

Sometimes I am very blind to guys flirting with me and can’t tell until it’s too late. I can never tell if they’re just complimenting me/trying to be nice or actually trying to flirt, so I assume that they’re just being nice just to be safe.

Being blind to when someone’s flirting is normal because every person is so different someone can seem like they’re flirting and they aren’t while someone else may feel they’re being completely obvious and they aren’t.

If you like someone the best thing to do is directly ask. Flirting is fine to test the waters and just see if someone flirts back before saying something. But that’s the best way of knowing is just talking.

That way you’re not missing out and not wasting time if they aren’t to to you

If there's usually some kind of sexual innuendo, untertone or tinge to what he's saying to you, thats usually a clue. also his tone of voice matters.

thats why it has to be coupled with what i said before with the sexual innuendo or overtone. its being jokey in a cheeky way really.

and really like with anything else in life you get better at recognizing it the more you notice it.

There's going to be some overlap between flirting and just being nice. But if the guy is making eye contact, complimenting you in some way (especially how you look), and makes light physical contact like touching you on the arm or shoulder, then he's probably flirting. Oh and also if he's smiling and trying to get you to laugh.

Compliments are usually given out once or maybe twice in a conversation. If he is doing more than he is flirting. If his words start to make you blush then he is making a pour attempt at flirting with you …. lol
