This girl at work crossed paths on one of the floors and we hoped in same lift together. When I hoped off on my floor I said ' have a good afternoon I'll see you around". She replied with " oh you'll definitely will see me around".

It’s hard to say if you like her though tell her especially at a work situation attraction could be shown much more subtly so that it can be played off as innocent enough if a awkward encounter was to arise form it.

Just talk to her and ask her

I would take it literally. You work in close proximity, that's the only reason I see. Don't overthink it. It'll drive you crazy. You need more clues than that. Ask me how I know 😔
