Why do people expect someone to mind read?

When someone drops “hints” many times people when they think someone’s flirting they’re not at the same time when they think someone isn’t flirting they are. Because every person flirts so differently

At the same time some people do catch on to it but they just aren’t interested. Maybe they’re not attracted to you, maybe taken, maybe it’s something else especially if it’s just a random stranger. If you like someone just tell them. Don’t make things more awakward then it has to be. If someone rejects you oh well you’re not wasting time on them anymore.

I'm guilty of this, so I'll cover two sides of it. it stems from being disregarded as a kid. You learn that your wants and feelings don't matter, so you learn to accept whatever comes your way. We are SUPPOSED to learn that you have to be vocal to get what we want, but most of us get shut down during that childhood phase, so we meant to stfu and hope for the best.

Then, we get older and some of us still don't learn to speak up. It took me into my 20s to connect the dots that I have to speak up to get what I want. But, some adults also get told to stfu when they speak up. Many, actually. Especially guys. And many girls get everything thrown at them without saying a word. Some girls experienced this is childhood too. So, for a lot of us, we aren't used to it. It's about practice and it's about being in relationships that build that skill. Don't coddle your partner OR shut them down. Same rule for your kids, if you have any.

Anonymous depends on how obvious you’re being and sometimes people aren’t interested if they do pick up on it and/or it’s just a bad time.

I seen on TikTok this chick was crying because she went into Home Depot dressed like a 5 dollar hoe and was angry no men approached her.

Like if I’m going to Home Depot I’m not going there to pick chicks up. I’m literally trying to run in and out and deal with as few people as possible
