Why do women keep sitting down next to me on trains, even though there are plenty of open seats and compartments?

Wouldn't a woman prefer to sit alone, or next to a 10/10 Chad guy?

I don't consider myself remotely attractive, and I KNOW that women would never like me or be near me. But whenever I travel on trains, these young women keep choosing to sit next to me, even at night. But why?

Of course, I don't make any eye contact with them, and I dare not say one single word to them, as that would be mischief in modern society. I do however, tremble, sweet profusely, and gaze out the window, when they sit near me. Or perhaps I should have the courage to say to them "Go on. Get out of here. You got lots of other seats." Evidently, women do NOT like to be smiled at or said "hi" to, let alone approached or hit on. Fact.

And why did a bikini-clad woman pick a lounge chair next to me at an uncrowded public pool this summer, despite there being plenty of other spots? Of course, I panicked and left the pool.

If it's always young women alone who do this, that's prolly a sign they see you as non-threatening (like u won't attack them, not like ur weak) & want the safety of being next to someone so that men who are maybe a threat won't single them out as easy target.

If you're uncomfortable with this I'd suggest sitting on the outside seat, so that they'd have to cross over you to get to the open seat. This would deter some women from sitting next to you, but they may sit near you still if there's very few other people on the train and especially if there's no other women.

It's usually a good thing to be seen as a safe person especially as a stranger, but I understand it can be scary too since you are strangers & don't know these women or whether they are safe either.

Looking good has nothing to do with looking safe. Honestly it may just be the fact that you mind your own business & don't try to talk to them. Maybe how u dress & style urself makes it seem you aren't interested in picking up women & just want to go about your day. A handsome man who is dressed all sexy or fancy, can be the most dangerous when ur a woman alone in a situation like that. I wouldn't sit next to a good looking stranger unless something else about his appearance made it seem he would not be interested in me.

You don't understand. Modern women will feel threatened just looking at an average looking guy, let alone sitting next to him. But they have no issue being close to a 10/10 Chad. He could touch her butt and she would mind because he's "hot" I've seen it irl.

Women in modern society have gone mad. Feminism, misandry and Instagram has blasted all reason out of their heads. :(

A man could enjoy his lunch alone at a restaurant and face the wall, but women (whom he is oblivious to) will look at him and report him for SA merely for existing. I've seen it.

As a "modern woman" I can assure you that's not true. You live near some extreme weird toxic women, & that's unfortunate. Most women are NOT okay with being groped, even by handsome rich men (see the #metoo movement). If you're a decent guy who doesn't assault ot harass women, then some women will pick up on that and feel safer around you than around other men. This is the most likely reason why young alone women would consistently sit next to you in mostly empty public transports.

I tend to disagree with the girl from the other comment saying that girls sit next to you because they see you as non-threatning, but if you are saying there were many empty seats, then they are better off picking an empty section to sit in instead of sitting next to a strange guy.

There could be other reasons which has nothing to do with you, maybe where you are setting is nicer than other seats, here where I ride the bus I noticed that younger people prefer to sit in the back seats regardless of who is sitting here so that is one thing you should consider.

Take a deep breath, say " hi, how are you," expect absolutely nothing from them, protect you belongings, go to the bathroom to get away from them if they act weird.

The possible answers are:

Because you look safe and they don't want a weirdo to sit next to them so they pretend to be with you

Because they want to fuck you

Because they're lonely and want company on the ride

Because they're trying to rob you or false accuse you of SA to sue you
